About

EXODUS FANZINE is a nonprofit, independent journal that gives a voice to refugees and those seeking asylum. Its motive is to humanise those caught in a refugee crisis that is developing around the world and help integrate them into a safe community.

It has the creative freedom to explore niche topics and themes without interference. Unlike titles overseen by big publishers, it can be controversial, unapologetic, and unconventional.

It has the right to freedom of expression and to hold opinions and receive and disseminate information and ideas without interference. This right is an
essential element of a democratic society and a basic condition for its progress and everyone’s self-fulfilment.

Going beyond information and ideas that are favourably received or regarded as inoffensive or with indifference, the right of freedom of expression extends to information that could offend, shock, or even disturb. Pluralism of the media is an important aspect of the right to freedom of expression. Different
voices and opinions present in society must be included and reflected in the media. In this way, tolerance and broadmindedness are built.

We are constantly trying to strike the perfect balance of creating a personal connection while protecting the safety and dignity of people we are working with. Privacy is a concern for us all and it is important for our editors, sub-editors, and photographers to be aware of this in the posting of delicate
images and information.
